Saint Emilion, Bordeaux
Sandy, Gravelly soils
Merlot 70%, Cabernet Franc 30%
CHATEAU TEYSSIER is handpicked having had green harvesting to ensure concentration. The grapes are sorted – firstly by bunch and then, after destemming, grape by grape. Only conveyors are used to transport the grapes and the wine is fermented in stainless steel tanks after cold maceration. The wines are aged in French oak – a
quarter of which is new.
Maturation in French oak barrels for a few months
Deep ruby red with purple hues
It has a lovely nose, expressive, pure, bright and open, with perfumes of red plums and a chalky freshness giving it a sense of purity and lift
A serious, broad and textural palate, rich and filled with spiced plum fruit, with a peppery energy through the middle. There is plenty of grip, velvety and tightly grained, and bright acidity as well. Substantial, broad, convincing, with a chalky perfume
Excellent accompaniment with pasta with red meaty sauces, red meat, stews and aged cheeses
Alcohol: 14.5 % Vol.
