Aromas of  ripe red fruits and spices with hints of vanilla and liquorice.  Rich, well-structured body, with mature tannins, medium acidity and well balanced oak and dark forest fruit.

Alluvial, average mixture with areas of limestone

Grapes
Negroamaro 70%; Cabernet Sauvignon 30%

Vinification

Grapes are picked and de-stemmed followed by a soft pressing. Maceration for 12-15 days at 28°C. Fermentation in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature.

Aging

Maturation in French barriques and in 30 hl. oak barrels. Refined in bottle.

Colour:

Intense ruby red with garnet highlights.

Taste:

Rich, well-structured body, with mature tannins, medium acidity and well balanced oak and dark forest fruit.

Food pairing:

Excellent accompaniment to crouton-based appetizers with game liver or game terrine, first courses with particularly tasty sauces, roasted and grilled red meat and mature cheeses.

Alcohol:  13.5% Vol.

Serving Temperature:

18 °C.

Aging Potential:

up to  15 years
