Grapes
Merlot 65%, Cabernet Franc 35%
Vinification
The grapes are handpicked into small trays before transfer to the winery. On arrival at the winery the grapes are sorted – firstly by bunch and then, after destemming, grape by grape. Only conveyors are used to transport the grapes and the wine is fermented in wooden vats after extreme cold maceration. The wines undergo malolactic fermentation in new French oak, and are barrel-aged in an air-conditioned cellar at 18 °C.
Aging
Maturation in 80% new oak barrels
Colour:
Deep ruby red with purple hues
Bouquet:
This cuvée is distinctive, the aromatic profile setting it apart from the other wines, with chalky minerality, backed with a stunning nose of expresso, blackberry, mulberry and kirsch.
Taste:
This wine is elegant and bold in structure, rich in feel, yet all that power is well balanced and honed. A concentrated blackberry character is propped up by firm tannins and lasting acidity, which gives ample aging potential. It is a well-balanced wine and should be enjoyed from 2024.
Food pairing:
Excellent accompaniment with pasta with red meaty sauces, red meat, lamb, venison, stews and aged cheeses
Alcohol: 14.5 % Vol.
Serving Temperature:
18 °C.

10 or more years
